Pace against the plan

Every “behind” and “on pace” in Xyzios is one idea: a straight line from the start of the period to its goal, and where you are against it today.

The revenue plan is the whole year, and a goal is one month in it. Pace turns this month’s goal into a number for today: if the month were a straight line from nothing to its goal, where should you be by now, and what does each remaining day need?

Example: a $60,000 month, on day 22 of 30

Banked so far
$41,000 the filled bar
A straight line says, by today
$44,000 the tick
To hit plan
$2,375 a day ($60,000 − $41,000) ÷ 8 days left

The Sales Desk paces the same way by the week: a weekly goal is the monthly goal ÷ 4.33, and each metric says where you should be by Saturday.

Where the goals come from

  • The revenue plan is set on Targets: pick a rule (such as seasonal run-rate or same month last year), a growth percentage, and let it fill the empty months. Any month can be typed by hand, and a hand-typed goal is never overwritten. See Set the revenue plan.
  • The sales goals (leads, intros, memberships) are set per location in Settings → Goals. A blank goal falls back to that location’s last eight full weeks plus 10%. See Set your monthly sales goals.

Reading it well

  • Early in the month the line is short, so a slow first weekend reads as behind. Watch the direction across a week rather than one morning.
  • “No plan for this month” and “no goal set” are not zeros. They mean the pace has nothing to measure against yet.
  • The company’s goal is always the sum of its locations’ goals; it cannot be typed. Actual takings are another matter: some sales carry no location, so the sites’ figures need not add up to the company’s (see Locations).
